“Which is the best beach in Australia?”

The results are in — and while some iconic favourites dominated the rankings, a few surprise contenders also made waves.

🥇 1. Manly Beach, NSW — 28%

Taking out the top spot is Sydney’s legendary Manly Beach.

Known for its golden sand, buzzing promenade, beginner-friendly surf and laid-back coastal vibe, Manly proved unbeatable among voters. Many respondents described it as the “perfect mix of beach, lifestyle and scenery”.

From sunrise swims to sunset drinks by the water, Aussies clearly believe Manly captures everything great about Australian beach culture.

🥈 2. Whitehaven Beach, QLD — 22%

Famous for its swirling white silica sand and turquoise water, Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays secured second place.

Voters praised its untouched beauty and postcard-perfect scenery, with many calling it “the most beautiful beach in the world”.

🥉 3. Bondi Beach, NSW — 17%

Australia’s most internationally recognised beach still remains a national favourite.

Bondi Beach earned strong support thanks to its vibrant atmosphere, iconic coastal walk and unbeatable café culture.

4. Burleigh Heads, QLD — 14%

Queensland’s Burleigh Heads continues to grow in popularity, especially among younger Australians.

Combining surf, rainforest walks and relaxed local charm, Burleigh was one of the strongest-performing beaches among respondents aged 25–40.

5. Cable Beach, WA — 9%

Western Australia’s famous Cable Beach rounded out the top five.

Known for its dramatic sunsets and camel rides along the shoreline, many voters said the beach felt “completely unlike anywhere else in Australia”.

While hidden gems received passionate support, the poll revealed that Australians still gravitate toward beaches that combine:

  • nearby cafés and restaurants
  • family-friendly atmosphere

Sydney and Queensland dominated the rankings overall, accounting for seven of the top ten beaches.

One thing is clear: whether it’s the tropical waters of Queensland or the iconic coastline of Sydney, Australians are fiercely passionate about their beaches.

And for 2026, Manly Beach officially holds the crown.
